Jesus: A Confident King and a Frustrated Mother Hen || Luke 13: 31-35

+ Jesus' goal to die and rise again from the dead could not be derailed — even by Herod's threats.

+ Jesus longed to protect Jerusalem from judgment — their continued refusal to accept Him inevitably led to their abandonment by God.

Takeaways

Copy Jesus’ confident, calm frame of mind, knowing that all the kings of the earth cannot take your life away until God permits, and all the doctors cannot preserve it when God calls you home.  All things work together for your good.

Pay Attention to the Prophets and Prophetesses among us.

Take comfort in Jesus’ deep compassion for those who leave the shelter of His wings.

The promises of the Gospel are wide and deep and inviting. Jesus is ready to forgive the worst of the worst.  But there will come a day when there will be no excuse if we choose to refuse Him.
