Week Three, Let there be Light?, Genesis 1:3
This week we discuss how the phrase “Let there be light” should be translated as “let the sun rise,” in agreement with the apostle Paul (2 Cor. 4:6), which is appropriate for the Hebrew grammar and context (the actual words used within the immediate context of a fully created universe and the Land covered in darkness), as well as the big, repeating picture of Redemptive history (the pattern of the sun rising in the first day of the week or a new beginning, cf Isaiah 58:8, 60:1-3; Matthew 4, 28; John 1).
