The healed Samaritan leper spontaneously returned to give personal thanks to Jesus. 11-16
Jesus was disappointed that nine of the ten lepers failed to return to him and give Him thanks for his gracious act of healing. 17-19
Takeaways:
Gratitude doesn’t come naturally to us. It is a fruit born of the Spirit that must be nurtured in order to develop and grow in our lives.
When we believe that everything we have is a free gift, given in grace by a gracious God, gratitude begins to be the overflow of our lives.
If we are not vigilant about consciously rejecting ingratitude and choosing gratitude, we easily sink back into complaining and discontent.
How to practice and develop gratitude:
Think daily about your blessings from God.
Think daily about the people in your life who are a blessing. Think about people in your life who you may overlook or take for granted.
