Our Stewardship Today Makes a Difference in Eternity || Luke 16:10-18

  • The unfaithful use of material possessions shows that we are enslaved to them and can’t be trusted with real treasure in eternity. 10-13

  • People are impressed with prosperity, but Jesus says materialism in the life of church leaders exposes a casual view of scripture. 14-18

Takeaways

Prosperity isn’t a sign of God’s pleasure - and poverty isn’t a sign of His displeasure.

God does not require either prosperity or poverty from us.  He expects faithfulness with what we have.

Jesus says it’s impossible to be devoted to both God and possessions. Don’t try to do what Jesus says is impossible.

We can be consumed with materialism in prosperity or poverty.  Enslaved to our possessions - even if we have few of them.

God promises a reward for faithfulness in this life- active administration of our inheritance in the age to come.
