What is it about the human condition that makes us see other’s faults so clearly but not our own?
Read Luke 18:9-14. Does this passage give us the motivation to inspect ourselves?
o Contrast the two men who went to pray. The Pharisee is blind to himself. But the tax collector sees his faults clearly.
o How was the Pharisee in chapter 18 like the hypocrite in Luke 6?
o Although the Pharisee seemed to be righteous, what does the passage say about God’s evaluation of the two men?
o Which one would you prefer to be in a relationship with or spend time with? Why?
